Huge Success - 2nd Annual Emergency Preparedness of Waycross

On Saturday, August 24 SERVPRO of Waycross, Hinesville, and Douglas hosted the 2nd Annual Emergency Preparedness Event of Waycross! The event was held on the front lawn at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds in Waycross. The event was designed to educate community members on the importance of getting prepared prior to emergencies; and to familiarize the community of first responders and other emergency response personnel that serve Ware and surrounding counties.
The event was a huge success and SERVPRO of Waycross, Hinesville, and Douglas passed out over 90 Hurricane Readiness kits. Carol Irvin, with the Department of Health and Safe Kids checked car seats and Ware County Sheriff's Office helped with making sure car seats were installed properly. Waycross Fire Department taught the importance of crawling under smoke to escape fires in their fire safety trailer.
